Bad Attitudes

Sometimes I really wonder why some students sign up for class at all. I mean they come in with a chip on their shoulder and begin from there. Almost everyone who knows me knows that I am extremely patient and tolerant. I run the classroom in such a way that I am known to outsiders as a Drill Sargent but to those actually in the room I am very lenient and patient.

But ... sometimes ... well, some folks just intentionally push and push. I wish I knew why. It makes learning almost imposable for the rest of the room and everyone leaves feeling uneasy. From time to time such a student comes into class like this. They aren't happy to be there and God help those who might act like they are happy 'cause they will put a stop to that as soon as they possibly can! It actually makes me sad for them. What a waste of energy to go about with such a negative attitude. And THAT is all I have to say on THAT.
