Making the cut

Well, the title sounds cool anyways! The students are learning haircuts. It's a small class so it moves rather quickly from the teacher standpoint. But, the students get a LOT more attention when there are fewer students. The group I am working with now are really dedicated learners. They are doing a marvelous job too.

I am not one for rushing through a job. I stress accuracy first and then work on speed later. Much later. It seems I have said "palm your shears" about a thousand times. And that means just yesterday! (Hey! Folks don't call me a Drill Sargent for nothing ya' know! LOL) Later, once they are working on clients they will get faster but first they must do things safely and properly. They each seem pretty much pleased with their cutting thus far. I hope they enjoy it. Cutting hair is one of my favorite tasks as a cosmetologist and hopefully is on the way to becoming one of theirs.

  1. Very good blog post for the aspiring cosmetologists. They say practice makes perfect. I would rather have a Drill Sargent in beauty school making sure my professional stylist is top-notch than wind up with a less-than-stellar haircut in the real world! :) I'm adding your blog to my Google Reader. You can see my blog at http://www.beautyschoolsdirectory.com/blog.
